The Man Who Built Dermatology in Central India
In the 1960s, Dermato-Venereology was a neglected branch of medicine in Madhya Pradesh. Six medical colleges in the state had no separate department. No specialists. No postgraduate training. Prof. Dr. D.K. Gupta changed that.
A Journey of Service
Founded what would become Dr. D. K. Gupta Memorial Institute of Skin & Personal Health in Napier Town, Jabalpur.
Started the Department of Dermatology at NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur.
Received the Award for Dedicated Service in the Field of Leprosy Eradication in Madhya Pradesh from the Indian Association of Leprologists.
