Sulfone antibacterial used in leprosy multi-drug therapy and in dermatoses with neutrophilic infiltrates such as dermatitis herpetiformis.
Usage Instructions
As prescribed; typically 50–100mg once daily. Requires baseline G6PD testing and periodic blood monitoring.
Precautions
Prescription only. Risk of haemolysis in G6PD-deficient patients. Regular CBC monitoring is essential.
